I am a graphic designer with extensive experience, an eye for detail, and a love of learning. I pour my full attention into each creative challenge that comes my way. Print ads, brochures, newsletters, quarterly reports, magazines, websites, presentations, interactive PDFs and more—I specialize in offering insights and solutions my clients need to be successful. I have worked in advertising agencies, graphic design firms and web companies to meet the needs of a wide range of clients. This strong technical and creative foundation continues to support and inform my approach to each unique project. My goal: To produce the best results possible. Every time.
In my career so far, I have straddled the fence between art and technology. I graduated from the Memphis College of Art with a BFA in Graphic Design: for the most part I was trained in design and graphics in the traditional sense before computers revolutionized the industry. Once I entered the advertising agency scene, I picked up the new tools quickly and became the tech guru wherever I’ve worked.
My greatest strength is the fact that I get stuff done. I have worked in high-stress production environments as well as on projects with long lead times that allowed more creative freedom. In either case, I meet deadlines and produce good results.
For web work, I am a front-end design and site architecture guy. I’m proficient in HTML/CSS and the Adobe Creative Suite. I have worked with Wordpress, Joomla, and other content management systems.
I can string sentences together and have written copy for more sites than I care to remember, and I’ve re-written or edited copy from clients and co-workers as necessary. I love the English language: I’m literate, I communicate well in writing, and I can spell. I’m not a copywriter, but for a couple of seasons I was a sports reporter for inthecrease.com providing weekly coverage and photography of the Memphis Riverkings.
I have experience creating, managing and tracking e-mail newsletter campaigns as well as a couple of different shopping cart systems.
I’m completely cross-platform and can produce in either Mac OS or Windows environments, though I’ve been a Mac user for so long I bleed in rainbow colors.
I work best as part of a team, but I work well independently when given the materials and information I need to produce.
